About The Hitching Post
The Hitching Post is a unique wedding venue in the Hudson Valley with a special history. In the 1800s, pioneers settled the land and in 1876, they built this hand hewn barn. The barn sat at its original location for 145 years before it was brought to our attention that it was going to be demolished.
In October 2021, we decided with the help of a crew of Mennonite men that we could take the barn down carefully, tag it, and repurpose it at our venue. Now the barn stands as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the pioneers who settled this land. We’re proud to offer a special venue where couples can come together to start their own history.
